The highlight of the evening will be the fun and fabulous music of The University of Nebraska Brass Quintet!

Featuring the incredibly talented faculty from the University of Nebraska, each member has played with orchestras, in jazz combos, in brass and woodwind quintets and other ensembles throughout the United States and Europe. These not-so-stuffy profs will delight you while performing a variety of music. The University of Nebraska Brass Quintet has toured extensively throughout the United States and Europe and are excited to play for us Nebraskan's who know how to enjoy good music.

What's been happening at Meadowlark?

We just finished a decade of beautiful chamber music in an unusual venues across Nebraska and it was so much fun that we felt and autumn encore was in order!

The Dali Quartet, Orlando Cotto and Ricardo Lorenz won our hearts with their inspired performances while obviously having fun collaborating. They energetically executed Ricardo's Venezuelan inspired compositions and were outstanding when Carlos relegated his second violin spot to Kearney's own 18 year old Sebastain Nabb who joined them for Haydn's String Quartet in G Major.

Kira and the boys of the Rastrelli Cello Quartet were as delightful as always. They charmed the audience at the Deer Springs Winery with a wide range of music. From Syncopated Clock to Tarnatelle, each piece was enthralling. The group is a pleasure to host and we were honored to have them return to Lincoln and travel to North Platte and Grand Island.

The festival would like to thank it's many dedicated volunteers and sponsors.

So what is Meadowlark Music Festival?

A summer tradition... Comfortable.  Casual.  Chamber!

For a week each summer, progressive chamber music fills the air during Nebraska's only summer chamber music festival whose goal is to expose as many people from different races, ages, economic statuses, and education levels to the fun and beauty of crossover and classical chamber music. In June, hundreds of people gather at comfortable venues around the state and listen to world class musicians perform beautiful music.

Now entering is second decade, Meadowlark Music Festival continues its tradition of offering family friendly, affordable, classical music to Nebraskans.  Dress casual, invite friends, and be prepared to have a very good time at a Meadowlark Music Festival event!
